Town squares, I’m digging them. A nice skip in the step which is reviving towns all across Texas. Bringing together the old with the new and you actually taste it! I found myself in Comanche, Texas and I need to go back to enjoy it all, and I will. But on this pass through, the stop is the Harvest Restaurant. An establishment which came highly recommended by an eclectic group of people. We looked it up and found the Farm to Table concept intriguing and a nice concept in this rural town. Something you may not find in most towns of this size or in even larger cities. A revolving menu changing with the seasons and the ingredients they provide. It was cool. Stepping in we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. For a brief moment, I almost felt under dressed, but the friendliness of the staff comforted me telling me it was about the food and the experience, and I was definitely dressed for that! That’s what it’s all about. You have to take everything in to fully enjoy a meal and we did. The detail to our comfort was impressive. Our waiter was knowledgeable and patient. Our glasses were always filled and the table always clean. The plating was aesthetically appealing and the food was great. The menu was not overwhelming, simple and pure making me wonder what the next season’s variety would be. I liked it. Not just the taste, but the fact that someone took the time to bring this concept to a modest town, giving yet another great option to devour some good fare. I’m not knocking franchise dining, but when you have a square as found here, “why!?” For what it’s worth, I’m giving a hats off recommendation to the Harvest Restaurant. If you’re in for some adventure, they apparently do a monthly 6 course tasting dinner bringing different flavors from around the world. I don’t consider myself a food critic or connoisseur, but I am a sojourner of life and this is life.

I appreciate everyone’s patience with me as I always have to take some quick food shots so that I can share! We enjoyed a variety, shared, didn’t share, and ate it all! Yes, they also offer some local wines. Comanche, Texas…it’s real!

“Just want to make the world dance…” (I’m a bit of a dork, so yeah, I’m doing this, if you want to peek into my mind at the time I was writing this: ) Live people!!!
