“The rest of the story.” So, I was surprised. I’d heard about this little steakhouse in Blanket, TX, population around 367 or so. Have been meaning to go check it out and see what all the hoopla was about. I was expecting a steakhouse, maybe a little rustic, a log cabin type, smokey and dark with a lot of energy and good ‘ol steak and potatoes straight out of the journals. And mind you, there’s nothing wrong with any of those. I was just thrown off a bit. We drive up through downtown and there to our left was a really cool repurposed building, modern with the charm of history. This was going to be good. Walking in, you step into a huge room spilt by a wall of stacked wood and a fireplace. One side has tables and a full bar, the other just tables. A full bar for your favorite drinks or try one of their specialties. A good selection of steaks and other popular dishes with great appetizers. This is a definite favorite, again! Just really good vibes and solid experience. If on a Thursday, head down there, traffic seemed good, Fridays or Saturdays, I’d make that reservation. Great wait staff, ask for Yolanda, she was very helpful, attentive and had great suggestions. The steak sauces, I know, “steak sauces!?!?”, but trust me, they took mine up another level. Good stuff! With its popularity, I wouldn’t say it’s a hidden gem, but a gem nonetheless! Good job Blanket!!! Make the trip, you won’t be dissatisfied. @thepearlcactussteakhouse #somewheretexas #texasteakhouse #steakhouse #texasroads #aboyslife #travel #life #texaseats
